Water/Wastewater Project Engineer/Manager

About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater (W/WW) Engineer to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment that values innovation, leadership, and technical excellence. You'll contribute to impactful projects involving water and wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment, and distributionβ€”helping shape the future of community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage water/wastewater projects from planning through design and construction.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to develop project scope, fees, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain project management and quality control plans.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks and changes.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to provide regular updates and ensure satisfaction.
  • Prepare progress reports, manage invoices, and present project updates.
  • Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal writing and interviews.
  • Mentor junior staff, conduct performance check-ins, and promote professional development within the team.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience delivering water/wastewater projects through all phases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or CAPM certification.
  • Experience with county and state government clients.
  • Familiarity with various delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3).
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Work Environment:

  • 95% office-based with occasional field visits.
  • May involve some walking, standing, and lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Fieldwork may expose you to varying weather conditions.
