Position Overview
In this role, youβll be responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise network services and infrastructure. Your work will involve a mix of operational support and project-based tasks, utilizing ITIL-based processes (incident, problem, change, and service request management). You will also contribute to architectural improvements and ensure network documentation, inventory, and patching processes are up to date. As a subject matter expert, you will advise internal IT teams and stakeholders on technical networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain global WAN, LAN, wireless, and remote access networks, firewalls, and other infrastructure components.
- Ensure security and availability of network services through monitoring, auditing, and incident response.
- Administer core services such as IP routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN configurations.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and assist with escalations as a 3rd-level networking expert.
- Maintain secure remote access for distributed teams and external partners.
- Manage documentation and inventory of network devices and configurations.
- Lead smaller infrastructure projects, including scope definition, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
- Participate in 24x7 global on-call rotation for network support.
- Support ongoing network security, disaster recovery planning, and new technology assessments.
- Mentor junior team members and share expertise across the organization.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of enterprise-level experience as a Senior or Lead Network Engineer.
- Deep expertise with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
- Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls and VPNs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Forescout or Cisco ISE for network access control.
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki and Arista hardware.
- Automation skills using Python or Ansible.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overlap with European and U.S. Pacific time zones.
- Occasional business travel as needed.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to team-based work.
- Advanced knowledge of BGP, 802.1x, and AWS Networking.
- Experience delivering multi-region/global network projects.
Preferred:
- Exposure to ITIL frameworks.
